Kham, East Tibet

by MyTravel on March 19, 2008

The news was shocking! The ticket agent at the Shangri-la in the bus terminal Zhongdian, Yunnan Province was happy to tell me on several occasions, both in Chinese and in English, that yes, foreigners can now travel across the east of the Tibet Autonomous Region in Lhasa… land without permits! I could not believe what I heard, but rather than fall into the rapture, I more I have to take advantage of the new policy or continue as scheduled on my already-paid, the government has authorized a week tour across Kham In Lhasa. Ultimately, it would have been ridiculous for me not to choose the latter.

The decade-old Land Cruiser was surprisingly good condition, having raced 99 times across Tibet. We have implemented across northern Yunnan to the cliff Feilaisi, we find a staggering 4000 meters above sea level and nauseously breathtaking to spend the night at the roadside site Pilgrimage of chortens laundered in sun, wind-tattered prayer flags and a view of Mingyong Glacier.

by MyTravel on February 25, 2008

The Champs-Elysées could be described as a street or boulevard, but it must be stressed that this is not an ordinary road, and is even known by some as “the most beautiful avenue in the world” or the most beautiful avenue in the world. It is interesting to note that the boulevard is two kilometres long and extends over a width of eighty metres. The Champs Elysees boulevard stretches from the Place de la Concorde at the famous Arc de Triomphe. This is an area that has been involved in so many films, books and photographs. For many people, just the idea of Paris conjures an image of the Eiffel Tower and overlooking the Champs Elysees spread to the Arc de Triomphe.

Surrounded by beautiful gardens with fountains and trees, this sector has a good sample of Parisian life including top shops, cinemas, restaurants and bars. Often considered as a place for the rich and famous, this boulevard is a stroll that can be enjoyed by everyone. The Champs-Elysees also hosts hotels on its wide avenue and many visitors opt to find a place to stay on the boulevard, while attractive in Paris.
